Wednesday: Be Proactive

“I believe that everyone chooses how to approach life. If you're proactive, you focus on preparing. If you're reactive, you end up focusing on repairing”, John C Maxwell

You’ve spent some time being curious, you’re mindful of keeping your feet firmly on the ground, now it’s time to take ACTION. Our third top tip is: BE PROACTIVE. It’s so important to remind yourself in any new job that you don’t know what you don’t know but it is your responsibility to be as proactive as you can to fill in the gaps. Remember not to be too hard on yourself - PERSISTENCE is key in your learning journey. There is a big difference between your new environment and the institution you have just come from because you are now responsible for your own development, no one will hand it to you. Hard work will pay off but in order to excel and stand-out from your peers, you have to be proactive – focus on your WORK ETHIC and DRIVE. Do more than just your job.

Think about what ACTION you can take from your very first day. Be ADAPTABLE to your approach, you never know what waits around the corner.

Strengths to use: Action, Adaptable, Adventure, Courage, Drive, Planner, Organiser, Persistence, Time Optimiser, Work Ethic
